Today, R&D of the PCF on aquaculture “Formation and effective use of sturgeon brood stocks, taking into account their genetic diversity in the conditions of sturgeon fish farms in the conditions of the Atyrau region”, to control the maturation of RMS of the sterlet herd, assess genetic polymorphism, morphometric and conformation indicators contained in sturgeon fish breeding enterprise Caspian Royal Fish LLP.

Atyrau hosts a seminar organized by the  FishRPC on the project of the PCF “Ecological and genetic monitoring of marine fish species of the Zhaiyk -Caspian basin” with the participation of Andre Shtekenreuter, a scientific specialist in acoustic equipment of the InnovaSea company (Canada) to solve the problem of testing acoustic equipment for the search for breeding sites of sturgeon of the Zhaiyk River. 

The seminar was held in the format of a presentation of materials with a demonstration of acoustic equipment for working in the conditions of the Zhaiyk river.

The seminar was attended by Deputy General Director D.B.N. Asylbekova S.Zh., Advisor to the General Director Romashov Y.T., SNS of the Genetics Laboratory Shalgimbayeva G.M., NS of the Aquaculture Laboratory Maratova G.M., co-executor of the project from VNIRO Volkov A.A. employees of the Atyrau branch, representatives of the Zhaiyk-Caspian basin. According to the work program for 2023, the objectives of the Target Financing Program for aquaculture “Formation and effective use of repair and brood stocks of sturgeon fish, taking into account their genetic diversity in the conditions of sturgeon fish farms in the Atyrau region”, an assessment of genetic polymorphism and fish–biological indicators of the RMS sterlet contained in sturgeon fish farms of the Atyrau region is carried out.

Work continues on the genetic certification and domestication of producers and their condition according to fish-breeding and biological indicators, monitoring and evaluation of the quality of adaptive (fitness) indicators obtained during artificial reproduction of juvenile sterlet.

The work involves the head of the PC Program, Deputy. Director General, Doctor of Biological Sciences Asylbekova S.Zh., researcher of the aquaculture laboratory Maratova G.M. employees of the Atyrau branch of the LLP «Fisheries Research and Production Center».

The 2nd day of the International Scientific Conference “Zoological research in Kazakhstan in the XXI century” is being held in Almaty, on the assignment of the Institute of Zoology: Results, Problems and Prospects”, dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the RSE “Institute of Zoology” of the KN MNVO RK.

The conference was attended by the General Director of “Scientific and Production Center of Fisheries” LLP Isbekov K.B. In turn, Kuanysh Baibolatovich congratulated the staff of the Institute of Zoology on its 90th anniversary, wishing well-being, new grandiose projects and achievements, success and prosperity, noting friendly and fruitful relations between the institutions.

Also, Rinat Tairovich Barakov, a junior researcher at the Aquaculture Laboratory, took part in the conference. Topic of the report: “Biological characteristics of carp (Cyprinus carpio) Kapshagai Reservoir (2016-2021)”.

Rinat Tairovich Barakov, a junior researcher at the Aquaculture Laboratory, is taking part in the conference from the Scientific and Production Center of Fisheries LLP. Topic of the report: “Feeding features of carp (Cyprinus carpio) in Lake Balkash. 

The main purpose of the conference is to support the exchange of knowledge of young scientists in various fields of science.

R. T. Barakov expresses his gratitude to Altayeva Farizat Amangeldievna, a researcher at Scientific and Production Center of Fisheries LLP of the Balkhash branch, for her help in preparing the material for the thesis and report.

On March 15-16, 2023, under the chairmanship of the General Director, Doctor of Biological Sciences, Associate Professor (Associate Professor) Isbekov K.B. 2023 year, a meeting of the Scientific Council of NPCRH LLP is being held to review and approve work programs on research and development for 2023 year.

On the agenda, consideration of next working programs:

1. According to the scientific and technical program to ensure the integrated development of aquaculture;
2. According to the scientific and technical program for the integrated assessment of the state of fish resources and other aquatic organisms;
3. To determine the fish productivity of fishery reservoirs, as well as to assess the state of fish resources;
4. On the development of the Red Book of Animals of Kazakhstan and an electronic database on rare and endangered animals.

The meeting will be held from March 15 to March 16, 2023.

In the upper part of the Kapshagai reservoir, on February 26, 2023, an expedition team of ichthyologists of the “NPC RH” discovered an alien hairy-armed Chinese crab Eriocheir sinensis (H. Milne Edwards), which weighed 261 g, body length 6.8 cm and width 7.2 cm. A large male specimen in size exceeds the weight of all crabs previously noted in the reservoir (150-152 g). It has been found in catches only once since 2006, in winter it was recorded for the first time. 

Research on the influence of alien hydrobionts on the ecosystems of transboundary watercourses is carried out under the PCF program for 2021-2023.

About the organization of the fish protection campaign “Spawning”.

Every year, in all fisheries basins of the republic, depending on the established places and terms of restrictions and prohibitions approved by the order of the Forestry and Wildlife Committee No. 190 dated July 24, 2015, the interregional basin fisheries inspections together with law enforcement and environmental authorities conduct a fish protection campaign “Spawning” in order to ensure favorable conditions for natural reproduction fish resources. In this regard, the Chairman of the Fisheries Committee on February 24, 2023 No. 30-9/42 approved the order “On the organization of the fish protection campaign “Spawning”.

This promotion will be held in:

• – On the reservoirs of the Aral-Syrdarya basin in the period from April 1 to June 10, 2023;
• – On the reservoirs of the Balkhash-Alakol basin in the period from March 25 to July 5, 2023;
• – On the reservoirs of the Yesil basin in the period from March 1 to July 15 , 2023;
• – On the reservoirs of the Zaisan-Irtysh basin from March 1 to June 15, 2023;
• – On the reservoirs of the Nura-Sarysu basin from April 20 to June 30, 2023;
• – On the reservoirs of the Tobol-Torgai basin from March 20 to July 1, 2023;
• – On the reservoirs of the Shu-Talas basin from March 1 to June 30, 2023.
