Implementation Period: 2024-2024.
Type of Work: Applied research work.
Objective: To conduct scientific research to determine the fish productivity of fishery water bodies and/or their sections, develop biological justifications for catch limits of fish and other aquatic animals, and provide recommendations on the fishing regime and regulation for the studied water bodies.
Research Objects: Commercial fish populations and hydrobiocenoses of the Small Aral Sea, the Syrdarya River within the Kyzylorda region, Artemia cysts (Artemia sp.) in the bays of Tushchybas and Chernyshov of the Large Aral Sea, Shardara Reservoir, the Syrdarya River within the Turkestan region, as well as the water bodies of the Sairam-Ugam National Park (Ugam, Mashat, Daubaba, Kokbulak rivers, and Balikty Lake).
Fields of Application: Ichthyology, fisheries.
Results Obtained: A biological justification has been prepared, reflecting the results of an analysis of the fishing situation in the water bodies and providing data on catches per unit of fishing effort. Recommendations for optimizing the use of fish resources have been given. Additionally, the hydrological and hydrochemical regime of the water bodies, the state of the food base, and the populations of the main commercial fish species have been analyzed. The biodiversity and quantitative indicators of food hydrobiota for fish in the water bodies’ aquatic areas have been determined. Calculations of fish catch limits for the period from July 1, 2025, to July 1, 2026, were made using research results from 2024-2025. The results of this work served as the basis for the development of an order by the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan to approve the catch limits and quotas for fish in the studied water bodies from July 1, 2025, to July 1, 2026. The report has been registered under inventory number №0224RK01286.
