As part of the celebration of the professional holiday “Fisheries Worker’s Day”, the Scientific and Production Center of Fisheries LLP hosted an open day for students of al-Farabi Kazakh National University. Future specialists got acquainted with the activities of the laboratories of hydrobiology, aquaculture and ichthyology, learned about modern areas of scientific research and took part in practical classes.

During the laboratory practice, students:

• have studied the methods of phytoplankton, zooplankton and zoobenthos research;
• familiarized with the basics of hydrobiological sample processing;
• gained practical experience working with laboratory equipment under the guidance of the Center’s specialists.

Such events allow students to consolidate their theoretical knowledge in practice, become more familiar with scientific activities and take an important step in their professional development.
