In accordance with Order No. 36-K dated April 8, 2026, issued by LLP “Fisheries Research and Production Center” from April 9 to the present, an expedition team consisting of Laboratory Head Y.T. Sansyzbayev, Head of the Expedition Unit S.Zh. Makambetov, Researcher S. Qarlybaiuly, and Laboratory Assistant N.K. Sakharin has been conducting scientific research at the Kapshagay Reservoir within the framework of Program 021 (Subprogram 100).

During the research period, the following activities are being carried out:
– analysis of biological indicators of fish populations, including length-weight characteristics, as well as determination of sex and maturity stages;
– sampling to determine the fecundity of the main commercial fish species of the Kapshagay Reservoir and the Ili River;
– hydroacoustic (echosounder) surveys at predetermined points, followed by analysis of fishing conditions in the study area;
– monitoring of commercial fish catches by fishermen.

The scientific research is also being carried out with the participation of Chief Specialist S.S. Sovetkhan from the Kapshagay Fisheries Inspection Department of the Balkhash-Alakol Inter-regional basin inspection of Fisheries of the Committee.

The comprehensive research activities will continue until April 25, 2026.
