{"id":8199,"date":"2026-01-27T15:28:04","date_gmt":"2026-01-27T12:28:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/fishrpc.kz\/?p=8199"},"modified":"2026-01-29T15:29:06","modified_gmt":"2026-01-29T12:29:06","slug":"kapchagay-reservoir-commercial-fishing-moratorium-and-designation-of-recreational-zones","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/fishrpc.kz\/?p=8199&lang=en","title":{"rendered":"Kapchagay Reservoir: Commercial Fishing Moratorium and Designation of Recreational Zones"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On January 27, 2026, a meeting was held at the Balkhash-Alakol Interregional Basin Fisheries Inspectorate (BAIBFI) following a proposal from the Public Association (PA) \u201cFederation of Sport Fishing\u201d and the Non-profit Organization (NPO) \u201cKazakhstan Tourism Association\u201d regarding the introduction of a temporary moratorium on commercial fishing due to the ecological and socio-economic situation of the Kapshagai Reservoir.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The meeting was attended by:<\/li>\n<li>Deputy Head of the Balkhash-Alakol Interregional Basin Fisheries Inspectorate (BAIBFI), Kaldayeva A.N.;<\/li>\n<li>Deputy General Director of the LLP Fisheries Research and Production Center, Barakbaev T.T.;<\/li>\n<li>Head of the Ichthyology Laboratory of the LLP Fisheries Research and Production Center, Sansyzbaev E.T.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Following the meeting, a decision was made to designate recreational zones for sport and amateur fishing near the city of Konayev on the Kapchagai Reservoir.
